Occupation in the bunkers: doctor Theme Song(s): Time Is Love- Josh Turner Bunker: 3 Condo #: 6 History: Emma was born on October 15 to Beatrice and George Mitchell. She was the youngest child, and only daughter with 3 older brothers. She always knew that she wanted to be a doctor, and her parents fully supported her. Throughout school, she was one of those girls you could depend on, and she had a good heart. She was sometimes called the girl next door, she was tough like her brothers and loved to get her hands dirty. She learned how to repair and restore old cars with her dad who was a mechanic. Her mom was a beauty, so it made sense when people said that she was a spitting image of her momma. She wanted her daughter to be a respectable lady, so she had her do fundraisers and events along side her, but Emma wanted to do something more meaningful with her life, life helping people in need. She went to college for Biology, pre-med and was on the fast track to a medical degree. That’s where she met Alec Goodman, and at first she was hesitant to date anyone at the moment. She had a five year plan in her head. College…travel the world… med school… get fellowship at a respectable hospital, and then maybe marry. They went to the same college, so it was difficult to avoid someone who lived in the same co-ed dorm as you. She kept telling herself that she would not let this man distract her from her goals. Alec was a very persistent guy, and was always trying his best to surprise her in her classes, during her study breaks, and he even embarrassed her in the girl’s locker room. Fine! She gave in and agreed to date him. Though it wouldn’t be easy. Emma was a stubborn as she was beautiful. They dated on and off again in college. Then after graduation, she left to travel to Europe to clear her head, and broke it off with Alec what she thought was for good. When she came back to the states, she had at least a dozen messages from him, and dozens of letters. They got back in touch after her second year of med school, and had decided to give it another go. They continued to date through her med school years, and then married as she started to work in a local hospital. Things couldn’t be more perfect, and well balanced. Then something happened that would change the course of events forever. Everyone started getting sick and dying right and left. Emma lost her mother just a week after the virus had spread, and her brothers and father went missing the month before everyone had escaped into the bunker, so really there was no telling if they were still alive. Since starting her new life in the bunker, Emma became the head doctor, and headed up the hospital down below. There isn’t a day that goes by where she worries and blames herself for not being able to help her mother, or anyone else for that matter. She tries to not let her personal problems come through the cracks in her marriage, or at work. Sometimes at night she can’t sleep and sees the faces of those she could not help. Maybe the real one who needs saving is…her. |
